A bargain at 2 1/2 the price

If you are a sports fan and you play video games, you have a few sports games in your collection.
For my PS2, I have a lot of them, most of them are EA Sports games. Madden football is a staple, with others from the EA-Tiburon developers in there as well.
But not anymore.
I'm becoming very budget conscious (a mortgage, two car payments, credit card bills and other bills to consider) and video games are an expense that I'm learning is too expensive to get.
However, a few months ago, I picked up ESPN's NFL 2K5 and was blown away. Not just by the price, but by the presentation, the game play and the overall feel of the game. You can control just about everything and it felt real.
And at $20, it was a bargain at 2 1/2 times the price. EA Sports games are $50, by comparison.
Inside the NFL game, there was a contest card. I entered it just before the deadline on Sept. 2 and learned I won a free ESPN Videogame -- NHL 2K5.
Here's some screen shots of the game.

This game doesn't disappoint. The francise mode is so comprehensive that I may have to read up on how to scout hockey players just to be successful at it. You control every aspect, including world-wide scouting and the minor leagues.
Also, there's other play modes, including the Heritage Classic games (outdoors!) and minigames to play.
"And Now..." Industries suggested that hockey fans who need a hockey fix to get a video game. The ESPN games are for PS2 and XBox only, but are worth it for those with these game systems.
And at $20, it truly is a bargain at 2 1/2 times the price.
