Sorry, but there's no excuse for this. This event can by psycho-analyzed forever and it'll come down to this: Michael Vick has problems and watching animals tear each other apart for gambling and pride is beyond comprehension. You can yell and scream until you are blue in the face about how sick this is - and you would be right - but Vick isn't alone. Just as Clinton Portis. Vick got caught and he should be punished greatly for it - if he's convicted.

He's innocent until proven guilty, but the public court will run with this one, especially in the stands at Atlanta Falcons games. Break out the "Who Let The Dogs Out" and cover your children's ears - the insults are going to fly. The NFL doesn't need this, but they're going to get it. The commissioner - Roger Goodell - will have his say, especially since he wants to clean up the NFL's image when it comes to players and crimes they commit.

Vick is damaged goods now. From this point on, he'll be known as a dog killer. And if the indictment sticks, he'll be known as a convicted dog killer. If there's justice, especially for the eight dogs that Vick and his cohorts killed, may he be known for the latter.
